About the job Senior Engineer Are you a Senior Engineer with strong water infrastructure experience, looking to take on technically challenging projects involving trunk mains, deep water infrastructure and trenchless construction? This is an opportunity to join an established Tier 1 civil engineering contractor delivering a major water infrastructure project in Hertfordshire. Working within a direct-delivery environment, you’ll gain exposure to pipelines, tunnelling, Temporary Works, MEICA and technically demanding civils, with genuine scope to develop your career further. The Role As Senior Engineer, you will take responsibility for key engineering activities across the project, including survey control and setting out, Safe Systems of Work, quality assurance, Temporary Works and technical information. Working closely with the Site Agent, Sub Agent and wider delivery team, you will also support short-term planning, RFIs, construction methodology and the development of Site Engineers and trainees. About You * Strong civil engineering experience within water infrastructure * Experience working on trunk water mains and trenchless construction * Competent in developing and reviewing Safe Systems of Work * Experience developing and implementing Quality Assurance Plans * Competent in the management of Temporary Works * Strong site survey and setting-out capability * Experience producing weekly work plans and short-term programmes * Competent in information controls and the RFI process * Degree, HNC or equivalent in Civil Engineering * CSCS and SMSTS * Strong communication, technical and problem-solving skills Desirable * Commercial awareness, including change control * Experience managing subcontract packages Salary & Package £50,000–£55,000 per annum, plus company car or car allowance, pension, private medical, 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays, and ongoing training and career development.
