A leading infrastructure and communications contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Technical Assurance (Design) Engineer to support the assurance and delivery of a major, long-term infrastructure programme. This is a key technical position working across design assurance, compliance and project delivery. The successful candidate will work closely with technical leads, design teams, project leadership, subcontractors and client representatives to ensure design deliverables meet the required technical, contractual and assurance standards.

The Opportunity:

  • Supporting the assurance and delivery of design and technical deliverables
  • Providing guidance to technical teams on assurance requirements and processes
  • Reviewing and approving contract deliverables for technical quality and compliance
  • Ensuring design outputs align with project, statutory and contractual requirements
  • Working closely with Technical Leads, design teams and project leadership
  • Reviewing supplier and subcontractor deliverables for quality and completeness
  • Tracking assured deliverables, certification and project progress
  • Supporting the preparation of completion evidence and final certification
  • Reviewing non-conformances, identifying trends and supporting corrective actions
  • Promoting technical best practice and continuous improvement
  • Supporting interface management between technical disciplines and delivery teams
  • Assisting with the development and maintenance of technical assurance processes and procedures
  • Supporting the management of design interfaces and technical dependencies
  • Preparing assurance documentation and certification associated with design verification and integration

Technical Assurance:

The role requires a strong understanding of design governance, technical assurance and compliance within major infrastructure projects. You will be expected to challenge technical deliverables where required, identify potential risks and work collaboratively with engineering and design teams to ensure issues are resolved before they impact delivery. Experience in managing design assurance, verification, certification, technical documentation and supplier deliverables will be particularly valuable.

About You:

We're looking for an experienced Technical Assurance, Design Assurance or Engineering professional with experience working on major infrastructure, engineering, construction or communications projects. You should have:

  • Strong technical/design assurance experience
  • Experience reviewing engineering or design deliverables
  • Good understanding of technical compliance and assurance processes
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary design teams
  • Strong document and certification management skills
  • Experience dealing with subcontractors and suppliers
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A methodical approach to technical governance and quality
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
