Are you an experienced MEP Quantity Surveyor looking for your next opportunity with a leading building services contractor? We are currently working with an established Tier 1 MEP contractor delivering major mechanical and electrical building services projects across London. The business has a strong reputation within the construction and building services sector, working on large-scale, technically complex projects for some of the capital's most prominent developments. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced MEP QS looking to join a well-established team, take ownership of significant MEP packages and work on some of London's major construction projects.
The Role
As an MEP Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial management of mechanical and electrical packages from procurement through to final account. Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing valuations, cost reports and financial forecasts
- Subcontract procurement and tender analysis
- Negotiating subcontract orders and commercial agreements
- Measuring and valuing mechanical and electrical works
- Managing variations and change control
- Preparing and agreeing interim applications and payments
- Managing subcontractor accounts
- Reviewing contracts and managing commercial risk
- Identifying commercial opportunities and cost savings
- Supporting procurement and value engineering exercises
- Working closely with Project Managers, Commercial Managers and Design Teams
- Maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors, clients and project stakeholders
About You
- Experience in MEP / M&E Quantity Surveying
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical building services knowledge
- Experience managing subcontract packages
- Strong procurement and negotiation experience
- Experience with valuations, variations and final accounts
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- The ability to take ownership of packages and work independently
