The Role

Danny Sullivan Group is recruiting for an experienced

Project Manager to lead the delivery of civil engineering and infrastructure works within a live airport environment at Heathrow.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for the safe and successful delivery of major packages of work across airside roads, pavements and associated civil engineering infrastructure .

This is a senior delivery position requiring strong leadership, commercial awareness and extensive experience managing complex civil engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • The delivery of allocated civil engineering packages from pre-construction through to completion and handover.
  • Works across airside roads, pavements, drainage, utilities and associated infrastructure .
  • Lead Site Agents, Sub Agents, Engineers, supervisors and subcontractors.
  • Ensure works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards.
  • Develop and manage construction programmes, short-term plans and project milestones.
  • Coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractor resources.
  • Manage subcontractors and supply-chain partners.
  • Work closely with commercial, planning, design, engineering and HSEQ teams.
  • Manage interfaces between multiple work packages within a live operational environment.
  • Oversee RAMS, ITPs, temporary works, permits and project documentation.
  • Monitor project performance, programme, costs, risks and opportunities.
  • Lead progress meetings and provide clear project reporting.
  • Liaise with the client and key project stakeholders.
  • Identify potential delivery issues and implement appropriate solutions.
  • Drive high standards of health, safety, quality and environmental performance.
  • Manage project completion, commissioning, handover and close-out activities.
  • Candidate Requirements

We are looking for experienced Project Managers with a strong background in civil engineering and major infrastructure delivery .

Relevant experience could include

  • Airport / aviation infrastructure
  • Airside roads and pavements
  • Highways and major road schemes
  • Heavy civil engineering
  • Concrete and pavement construction
  • Drainage
  • Earthworks
  • Utilities
  • Major infrastructure programmes

Previous airport or airside experience would be highly advantageous , although experienced Project Managers from major highways and comparable heavy civil engineering projects will also be considered.

Candidates should ideally have

  • Proven experience as a

Project Manager or Senior Project Manager within civil engineering.

  • Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or Construction.
  • Strong experience managing multidisciplinary site delivery teams.
  • Experience managing significant subcontractor and supply-chain packages.
  • Strong understanding of programme, commercial and contractual project management.
  • Knowledge of RAMS, ITPs, temporary works and construction quality procedures.
  • Strong client and stakeholder-management skills.
  • SMSTS.
  • Appropriate CSCS qualification.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Experience delivering projects within a live, operational or safety-critical environment would be particularly beneficial.
