We are seeking an experienced Sub Agent to join a major rail and infrastructure improvement scheme in Hindley, supporting the delivery of a large-scale civil engineering and rail enhancement project for a leading UK main contractor. This project forms part of a significant investment into transport infrastructure, involving rail-side civil engineering, structural works, drainage, access improvements, earthworks, and multidisciplinary construction activities within operational railway environments.
The Sub Agent will be responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and delivery of works packages while ensuring safety, quality, commercial performance, and programme targets are achieved.
Key Responsibilities- Managing sections of work across rail and civil engineering packages
- Assisting with programme delivery and site coordination
- Supporting engineers and supervisors on daily operations
- Monitoring subcontractor performance and productivity
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
- Reviewing RAMS, permits, and construction documentation
- Liaising with project management teams and stakeholders
- Supporting commercial reporting, progress tracking, and change management
- Previous experience as a Sub Agent within rail or civil engineering
- Strong understanding of rail infrastructure and construction processes
- Valid PTS certification
- CSCS Card
- HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Strong organisational and leadership skills
- Excellent communication and reporting abilities
