Senior Quantity Surveyor - MEICA / Water Location: Hertfordshire Salary: £55,000 - £75,000 + Package Employment: Permanent Working Pattern: 5 days per week on site The Opportunity We are looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering MEICA and water infrastructure projects across the region. This is a site-based commercial role working closely with the project, engineering and operational teams to manage the commercial delivery of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control and automation packages. The role would suit an SQS with a strong background in water, wastewater, utilities or MEICA projects who is comfortable managing projects commercially from procurement through to final account. The Role As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for: Commercial management of MEICA packages and projects Managing subcontractor procurement, tendering and appointments Preparing and managing subcontractor accounts Cost forecasting, reporting and budget management Applications for payment and valuations Managing variations and change control Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities Supporting project teams with contractual and commercial matters Working under NEC contracts Managing project costs through delivery to final account Working closely with Project Managers, Engineers and the wider commercial team Ensuring projects deliver against agreed commercial targets What We're Looking For Ideally, you will have: Previous experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or experienced Quantity Surveyor A background within civil engineering, water, utilities or MEICA Experience commercially managing mechanical and/or electrical packages Knowledge of water and wastewater infrastructure would be highly advantageous Strong understanding of NEC contracts Experience managing subcontractors and supply chain Strong cost management, forecasting and reporting experience HNC/HND or degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline preferredExperience on water treatment works, wastewater treatment works, pumping stations, pipelines, process infrastructure or other MEICA-heavy projects would be particularly relevant.
