Site Agent - St Albans Location: St Albans, Hertfordshire Salary: £60,000 - £65,000 per annum Start Date: 28 September 2026 Contract: Permanent Closing Date: 2 October 2026 Our client is looking for an experienced Site Agent to join their Southern Region team, based in St Albans. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Site Agent with a strong background in civil engineering and site delivery to take responsibility for the successful management and delivery of works, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards. The Role As Site Agent, you will be responsible for supporting the management and delivery of works on site, coordinating site activities and working closely with project teams, subcontractors, suppliers and other stakeholders. Key responsibilities will include: Managing day-to-day site operations and activities. Ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards. Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and site personnel. Monitoring progress against programme and identifying potential issues or delays. Maintaining high standards of health, safety, environmental and quality compliance. Assisting with project planning, programming and resource management. Maintaining accurate site records and reporting progress to the wider project team. Working collaboratively with the Project Manager and other key stakeholders. Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications and relevant procedures. About You The successful candidate will have previous experience working as a Site Agent / Site Manager within the civil engineering or construction sector and will be confident managing site-based activities and teams. We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate: Proven experience in a Site Agent or similar site-based management position. A strong background in civil engineering/construction. Experience managing subcontractors and site teams. Good understanding of health, safety, quality and environmental requirements. Ability to read and understand technical drawings and project documentation. Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills. The ability to work effectively under pressure and to tight project deadlines. Relevant industry qualifications and site-based training/certifications.
