We are currently seeking an experienced Drainage Foreman to lead deep drainage works on a major highways project in the Howden area. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a strong background in deep drainage operations within a highways environment. The successful candidate will be confident managing site teams, coordinating plant and labour, and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to programme.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead drainage gangs on deep drainage installations
- Organise and allocate labour, plant, and materials effectively
- Ensure all works are carried out in line with health, safety, and environmental standards
- Read and interpret drawings, plans, and specifications
- Maintain progress on site and liaise with site management and engineers
- Ensure quality control and compliance with project requirements
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Drainage Foreman on highways or civil engineering projects
- Strong knowledge of deep drainage systems and installation methods
- Ability to manage teams and put men and machines to work efficiently
- SSSTS/SMSTS preferred
- CPCS/NPORS and other relevant tickets advantageous
- Strong communication and organisational skills
