We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a major Kier-led water infrastructure programme, working across the Thames Valley and surrounding areas. With significant investment being made across the UK water sector, this is an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to become involved in major water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including treatment works upgrades, process improvements, pumping systems, mechanical installations and commissioning.

Central location: Thames Valley / Oxfordshire

Projects across: Oxford, Swindon, Reading & Harpenden

Permanent or Contract: Both options available

Contract: Attractive day rate available – dependent on experience

The Opportunity

The successful Mechanical Engineer will work as part of a multidisciplinary project team, supporting the delivery of major water and wastewater schemes. Responsibilities may include:

  • Mechanical engineering support throughout project delivery
  • Mechanical installation, inspection and commissioning
  • Pumps, valves, pipework and process equipment
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications and technical documentation
  • Liaising with subcontractors, suppliers and site teams
  • Supporting MEICA integration
  • Resolving technical issues on site
  • Ensuring works are delivered safely, to specification and programme

  • Pumps, pipework, valves and associated equipment

Water-sector experience is highly desirable, but candidates from other complex mechanical engineering backgrounds will also be considered.
