An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced MEP Design Manager to join one of the UK's leading Building Services Contractors, delivering high-profile projects across London and the South East.
Working as part of a well-established technical team, you will play a key role in managing the design process from pre-construction through to project completion, ensuring mechanical and electrical designs are fully coordinated, compliant and delivered in line with programme requirements.
The Role- Manage the MEP design process from tender stage through to construction and handover.
- Coordinate mechanical, electrical and public health design teams to ensure fully integrated building services solutions.
- Review consultant designs for buildability, compliance and value engineering opportunities.
- Lead design workshops, coordination meetings and technical reviews with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
- Ensure design information is issued in line with project programmes.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Commercial Teams and Site Managers throughout the construction phase.
- Manage RFIs, technical submissions, design changes and approval processes.
- Coordinate BIM and clash detection activities with internal and external design teams.
- Support procurement by reviewing technical specifications and subcontractor proposals.
- Assist commissioning teams to ensure designs are fully coordinated through to project completion.
- Previous experience as an MEP Design Manager or Building Services Design Manager.
- Strong mechanical and electrical building services knowledge.
- Good understanding of BIM, design coordination and construction methodologies.
- Ability to manage consultant teams and multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering preferred.
