We are seeking an experienced Project Manager from a civil engineering contracting background to lead the delivery of a major infrastructure project in Carmarthen, West Wales. This is an excellent opportunity for a site-based Project Manager with a proven track record in heavy civil engineering, earthworks, and reinforced concrete (RC) structures. The successful candidate will initially join on an agency basis from 1st September, with the intention of transitioning to a permanent position following contract award confirmation in mid-November, subject to performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overall management and delivery of a major civil engineering project.
  • Leading site teams and subcontractors to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality project execution.
  • Managing programme, budget, resources, and client relationships.
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Coordinating with commercial, engineering, and operational teams to achieve project objectives.

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager within the civil engineering contracting sector.
  • Strong background in heavy civils, bulk earthworks, and reinforced concrete structures.
  • Experience managing large-scale infrastructure or civil engineering projects.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong understanding of project planning, delivery, and commercial management.
  • Relevant industry qualifications (HNC/HND, Degree, SMSTS, CSCS, etc.) preferred.

Location

Candidates based in Swansea, Carmarthen, or elsewhere in West Wales will be particularly well suited due to the project location.
