We are recruiting for an experienced Environmental Manager to join a major infrastructure project in the Midlands. This is a key role on a high-profile civil engineering scheme, leading environmental compliance and performance across complex works. You’ll ensure the project meets all environmental, planning and contractual obligations while supporting operational teams to deliver safely, efficiently and in line with client requirements.
The Role
- Lead implementation of the Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP)
- Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, permits and planning conditions
- Act as main point of contact for the client and regulatory bodies
- Oversee environmental audits, inspections and reporting
- Provide guidance on earthworks, water management, waste, ecology, noise, air quality and contamination
- Review RAMS and method statements from an environmental perspective
- Manage and mentor Environmental Advisors on site
- Drive sustainability initiatives and promote environmental best practice across the project
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as an Environmental Manager within civil engineering or major infrastructure
- Strong knowledge of UK environmental legislation and regulatory requirements
- Experience working for Tier 1 contractors or on large, multi-disciplinary projects
- Confident engaging with clients, regulators and senior project teams
- Degree qualified in Environmental Management (or similar discipline)
- IEMA Practitioner or above (or working towards)
