Works Delivery Manager – South Essex

A leading infrastructure services provider is seeking an experienced Works Delivery Manager to join their team delivering a key maintenance contract across multiple railway stations throughout South Essex.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled manager with experience in rail, civils, building fabric, facilities management or infrastructure maintenance to take ownership of reactive and planned preventative maintenance activities.

The Role

As Works Delivery Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of reactive and PPM works across a portfolio of 26 stations.

You will manage operational teams, subcontractors, resources and client expectations to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with contractual KPIs.

Key responsibilities include

  • Managing reactive maintenance and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities across building fabric and civils works.
  • Leading and supporting site operatives through briefings, technical guidance and performance reviews.
  • Managing subcontractors to ensure quality, safety and programme requirements are achieved.
  • Coordinating labour, materials, plant, vehicles and equipment.
  • Monitoring and driving performance against contractual KPIs.
  • Preparing quotations and managing client instructions from initial request through to completion.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with clients and providing regular progress reporting.
  • Ensuring all systems, records and compliance documentation are accurate and up to date.
  • Carrying out audits, inspections and supporting continuous improvement across delivery teams.

Requirements

  • Previous experience managing maintenance, civils, construction or infrastructure delivery teams.
  • Strong understanding of reactive and PPM works.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and operational resources.
  • Excellent communication and client management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and prioritise effectively.
  • Rail/PTS experience is highly desirable, however candidates from civils, highways, FM or similar backgrounds will also be considered.

  • Location: South Essex
  • Some limited out-of-hours support required
  • On-call rota included
