Senior Engineer – Sizewell C Location: Sizewell, Suffolk Contract Type: Permanent Salary: £60,000 – £70,000 Package Includes: Accommodation, car allowance/van, bonus and 10% pension Reports to: Engineering Manager / Project Lead Engineer About the Project Sizewell C is a nationally significant infrastructure project, delivering a new nuclear power station in Suffolk. The project will provide low-carbon electricity to millions of homes and play a central role in achieving the UK’s net-zero targets. Role Overview As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for leading technical delivery within your discipline, ensuring that design, engineering, and construction activities meet the project’s safety, quality, cost, and programme requirements. You will act as a key interface between design, construction, and client stakeholders, contributing to one of the most complex and high-profile engineering projects in the UK. Key Responsibilities Provide technical leadership and engineering support across assigned project packages. Review and approve design submissions, ensuring compliance with nuclear safety, regulatory standards, and project specifications. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and suppliers to resolve engineering challenges. Ensure that construction works are delivered to the required quality, safety, and environmental standards. Manage engineering changes, risks, and issues, escalating where necessary. Support the development of junior engineers and promote best practice. Contribute to continuous improvement, lessons learned, and innovation initiatives. Prepare and present reports, technical documentation, and progress updates to senior management and stakeholders. Requirements Degree in Civil Engineering or HND/HNC Equivalent Chartered Engineer status (or working towards). Strong background in delivering major infrastructure or nuclear/energy projects. Excellent understanding of engineering management processes, construction methodologies, and safety-critical environments. Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders. Strong problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.Desirable Experience in the nuclear sector or regulated industries (rail, defence, oil & gas).
