Supervisor – Rail & Accessibility Works (Wigan Area)
Danny Sullivan Group is currently recruiting for an experienced Supervisor to support accessibility upgrade works at Bryn and Hindley stations in the Wigan area. This is an opportunity to work on significant rail infrastructure improvements across two stations undergoing major refurbishment and accessibility enhancements throughout 2026. Hindley station is receiving a £6.5m refurbishment including new lifts and a footbridge, while Bryn station is undergoing step-free access improvements as part of a wider £16.8m Greater Manchester investment programme.
Your Role as a SMSTS Supervisor:
- Supervise and coordinate daily site operations on rail station upgrade works
- Carry out Start of Shift Briefings and Toolbox Talks (TBTs)
- Maintain daily site diaries and accurate site records
- Ensure works are carried out safely, efficiently, and in line with programme requirements
- Oversee subcontractors, operatives, and site activities
- Ensure compliance with RAMS, permits, and site procedures
- Promote and maintain high health & safety standards across site
- Liaise with site management, engineers, and project teams to ensure smooth delivery of works
- Monitor site progress and report any issues, delays, or safety concerns promptly
- Ensure all activities comply with Network Rail and safety‑critical procedures where required
What We’re Looking For as a SMSTS Supervisor:
- Valid SMSTS
- First Aid at Work
- Gold CSCS Card (Supervisory)
- PTS (Personal Track Safety)
- Previous supervisory experience on rail or civil engineering projects
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to deliver site briefings and manage daily documentation
Nice to Have:
- TWS (Train Work Site) Safety Critical / Sentinel competencies
Shift Pattern: Day Shifts
Hours: 07:30 – 17:30 (9.5‑hour paid days)
