Sector : Wastewater Treatment / UK Water Industry

Our client, a leading contractor partnering with Severn Trent Water , is seeking an experienced Site Manager/Construction Manager to oversee daily operations of wastewater treatment sites, initially in the Stafford area and then on to major projects for AMP 8 in the Leicester area . This contract role requires a strong leader with proven experience in the UK Civils sector; Water experience is preferable but not essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Site Operations : Manage daily activities to ensure the site runs efficiently and meets operational targets.
• Health & Safety Compliance : Enforce strict safety standards , conduct risk assessments , and ensure full CDM compliance .
• Team Leadership : Oversee site staff and contractors, ensuring smooth 24/7 operations and adherence to safety protocols.
• Project Coordination : Lead on-site projects, ensuring timely delivery within scope, budget, and schedule .
• Regulatory Compliance & Reporting : Ensure all operations adhere to environmental and industry regulations , submitting compliance and performance reports as required.
• Maintenance Oversight : Manage maintenance schedules and equipment to minimise downtime and ensure continued site efficiency.

Requirements:

• Municipal Civil Engineering – Focuses on city-based civil works for local authorities.
• Utilities & Underground Works – Includes water mains, sewer systems, drainage.
• UK Water project experience (desirable)
• Civil Engineering qualification (preferred)

Valid certifications:

• SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
• First Aid
• Full UK Driver’s Licence
