The Danny Sullivan Group is currently looking for a Site Agent/Manager to join a respected civil engineering contractor delivering key projects across the Civils and Water sectors.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to lead the safe and efficient delivery of infrastructure schemes in a highly regulated environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for end-to-end project management, working closely with senior leadership, engineers, and commercial teams to ensure successful outcomes on quality, safety, programme, and cost.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the delivery of complex construction projects, ensuring safety, quality, and environmental standards are maintained at all times.
- Manage all site operations, including teams of Sub Agents, Engineers, and Foremen, ensuring performance and compliance on all project tasks.
- Oversee the production and implementation of essential documentation such as Project Plans, RAMS, ITPs, and Waste Management Plans.
- Maintain strong commercial control of the project, including preparation and management of cost plans, tracking variations, and ensuring value for money.
- Develop and manage the project construction programme, including regular 2-week lookahead updates.
- Liaise with procurement to ensure adequate resources and materials are available on site to meet programme targets.
- Represent the business in an ambassadorial capacity with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
- Produce accurate internal and client-facing reports and chair regular site meetings.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Significant experience working in civil engineering, particularly in water infrastructure, as a Site Agent or Site Manager.
- Good knowledge of CDM Regulations, NEC/JCT contracts, risk management, and cost forecasting/control.
- HNC/Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- CSCS card (mandatory) and SMSTS or IOSH Managing Safely.
- Experience producing Safe Systems of Work and managing subcontract packages.
- Knowledge of relevant specifications and testing procedures in civil engineering.
- Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills.
- Proficient in site reporting, planning software, and Microsoft Office applications.
Desirable:
- Temporary Works Coordinator certification
- Confined Space Training
- CEng MICE or equivalent chartership
- Experience with Primavera P6
- Understanding of JCT and NEC contract forms
