An excellent opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a reputable and design-led developer, working on a £125 million mixed-use development forming part of a major regeneration zone in Stratford, East London.
This is a high-profile, design-focused scheme combining private and affordable residential units, commercial space, and high-quality public realm, contributing to the wider transformation of one of London\’s most dynamic growth areas.
Now entering delivery phase, the project offers exposure to a technically engaging development with a blend of new-build construction and complex site logistics.
The Role
Working as part of a close-knit commercial team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day commercial management of multiple packages across the development lifecycle. Reporting to the Commercial Lead, you will play a key role in cost management, procurement, contractor liaison, and project reporting.
This role suits a driven and detail-oriented QS looking to step into a client-side position on a major London development, with real ownership and long-term progression.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage procurement and tendering processes for key trade packages
- Administer JCT Design & Build contracts and sub-contract agreements
- Prepare cost plans, valuations, forecasts, and financial reports
- Lead package management through design, procurement, delivery and close-out
- Monitor change control and value engineering opportunities
- Support senior commercial team in managing contractor performance
- Attend site and design meetings, ensuring commercial input across all stages
- Liaise with internal development, technical and delivery teams
- Assist in the mentoring of junior QS staff
Candidate Profile
We\\\’re looking for a commercially sharp and proactive Quantity Surveyor with a solid background on large-scale residential or mixed-use projects. You may currently be working client-side or looking to make the transition from a Tier 1 contractor or PQS consultancy.
Requirements:
- 5-8 years\\\’ experience in a Quantity Surveying or Commercial role
- Strong knowledge of JCT D&B contracts and procurement processes
- Experience on major residential/mixed-use schemes (£50m+)
- Developer, contractor, or PQS background welcomed
- Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar discipline
- Ability to manage multiple packages with minimal supervision
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Able to work from site or in a hybrid setup based in East London
