A leading construction contractor is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead delivery of a major build project within an aviation environment. This role will take full responsibility for programme, commercial performance, and safe delivery on a live airport scheme, ensuring minimal disruption to operations while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of a large-scale aviation build project
- Manage site teams, subcontractors, and supply chain partners
- Oversee programme planning, sequencing, and delivery milestones
- Ensure compliance with aviation regulations, safety standards, and CDM requirements
- Drive commercial performance, including cost control, forecasting, and reporting
- Maintain strong stakeholder engagement with client, airport authorities, and key partners
- Manage risk, resolve technical and operational challenges, and ensure project continuity
- Lead progress meetings, reporting, and senior-level updates
Requirements
- Proven experience delivering major build or infrastructure projects in aviation or similarly complex environments
- Strong understanding of working in live operational environments (airside experience desirable)
- Demonstrated leadership managing large site teams and multiple subcontractors
- Strong commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and programmes
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Relevant construction qualification (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent)
- SMSTS / CSCS (Black/Gold)
Desirable
- Experience delivering projects within airports or regulated environments
- Knowledge of NEC contracts
- Background with Tier 1 or large principal contractors
