A leading UK construction and infrastructure business is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to join its expanding team supporting a major long-term defence infrastructure framework in Glasgow. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly respected contractor delivering complex non-nuclear infrastructure projects within secure civil and military environments. The role would suit either an established Supply Chain Manager or an experienced procurement professional ready to step into a senior leadership position.

Role

Working closely with senior operational and commercial stakeholders, you will lead subcontract and materials procurement activity across a range of infrastructure packages. You'll manage supplier relationships, oversee procurement strategy, and ensure the successful delivery of subcontractor performance across the project lifecycle. You will also lead a small procurement team while driving best practice, programme compliance, and supply chain performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for complex and high-value work packages
  • Manage end-to-end subcontract procurement processes in line with programme requirements
  • Lead supplier, subcontractor and vendor relationship management
  • Monitor and manage supply chain performance and KPIs
  • Identify and mitigate procurement and supply chain risks
  • Ensure materials and subcontract packages are delivered on time, within budget and to specification
  • Work collaboratively with commercial, operational and functional teams across the project
Requirements
  • Previous experience within supply chain management in construction or infrastructure
  • Strong knowledge of NEC contracts (NEC4 advantageous)
  • Experience procuring Civils or MEICA subcontract packages
  • Good understanding of the Scottish construction supply chain market
  • Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
  • CIPS Level 4 qualified or working towards (preferred)
  • Degree qualified in Supply Chain, Business or similar discipline (advantageous)
