A leading Tier 1 contractor is seeking an experienced ME Commissioning Manager to oversee the delivery, testing, and commissioning of complex mechanical and electrical systems across major data centre and commercial building projects in and around London. This is a key position within a high-performing project team, ensuring all MEP systems are commissioned to the highest standards and meet client and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with design, project, and construction teams, driving quality, performance, and handover readiness across multiple fast-paced projects.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage all M&E commissioning activities, from design stage through to client handover.
- Develop and implement commissioning programmes, strategies, and documentation in line with project timelines.
- Coordinate subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers, ensuring full integration of MEP systems.
- Oversee the testing and validation of mechanical, electrical, and BMS systems.
- Chair and manage commissioning meetings, ensuring progress, issues, and reporting are tracked accurately.
- Ensure all commissioning documentation is up to date, compliant, and meets client and project specifications.
- Collaborate with design and QA/QC teams to identify and resolve technical issues early.
- Manage handover and close-out procedures, ensuring smooth transition to facilities management teams.
- Proven experience as a Commissioning Manager or Senior Commissioning Engineer within Tier 1 or major MEP contracting environments.
- Strong knowledge of data centre, commercial, or mission-critical projects.
- Excellent understanding of mechanical and electrical systems and their interdependencies.
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and interface effectively with clients and stakeholders.
- Familiar with CIBSE, BSRIA, and industry commissioning standards.
- Exceptional organisational and reporting skills, with attention to detail.
- Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering.
- SMSTS or SSSTS certification preferred.
- CSCS card (Manager or Professionally Qualified).
- Commissioning Management accreditation or relevant professional memberships (desirable).
