An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join a leading Tier 1 M&E Contractor delivering a major £7m student accommodation development in Birmingham. Working within an established project delivery team, the successful candidate will take full responsibility for the mechanical package from pre-construction through to commissioning and final handover, ensuring successful delivery in line with programme, budget and quality expectations. This role offers the opportunity to join a well-respected contractor with a strong pipeline of secured work across the Midlands and nationally.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full mechanical delivery of a £7m student accommodation scheme
- Coordinate subcontractors, labour and specialist suppliers on site
- Drive programme delivery and manage installation activities through all project phases
- Oversee quality assurance, commissioning and project handover processes
- Manage procurement, material scheduling and technical coordination
- Maintain effective communication with clients, consultants and internal teams
- Ensure all works are delivered in line with health & safety and compliance requirements
- Support commercial management and overall project performance
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience operating as a Mechanical Project Manager within the Building Services / M&E sector
- Previous experience delivering residential, student accommodation or major commercial developments
- Strong understanding of mechanical building services installations and project delivery
- Excellent leadership, coordination and communication skills
- Experience working for Tier 1 contractors or leading M&E contractors preferred
