The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a leading protection agency pursuing our mandate to protect and promote durable solutions to displacement-affected populations based on humanitarian principles. Our response in the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt) is centred on empowering conflict affected communities to meet their basic needs and promoting safety and dignity by addressing protection risks. Operating from two hubs in Deir al Balah and Gaza City, with a coordination office in Ramallah and a representation office in East Jerusalem, DRC maintains an active presence with over 30 national and international staff and four civil society partners. DRC aims to grow our operation into a Country Office as part of the Middle East Hub, which also comprises Türkiye, Yemen, Syria, Iraq, Lebanon and Jordan.

Responsibilities
- Responsible for all procurement of goods and services, warehousing, transportation of goods and people, vehicle fleet management and general logistics support to the programme in oPt
- Localising and adapting DRC policies within the support area to the local context
- Contribute to the development of country supply chain strategies
- Ensure compliance to DRC procedures and donor rules within the country
- Oversee day-to-day logistics activities and provide support or technical guidance to country operations
About you
To be successful in this role we expect the following:
Coordination
- Contributes to the daily operation with comprehensive knowledge in logistics and procurement
- Leads coordination with programme staff to ensure logistics and procurement involvement in the whole programme cycle
- Ensures that logistics and procurement rules and policies are understood and respected
- Responsible for assigned operational budget lines within programmes and supports in programme procurement planning
- Provides technical support to country supply chain teams
Procurement
- Ensures that procurement policies and procedures are rigorously followed
- Procurement of all goods and services
- Establishes and follows up annual procurement plans
- Tracks all orders, purchases and deliveries
- Oversees purchase and service contracts to protect DRC\’s interests
- Optimizes logistics operations to increase cost effectiveness, including longer term supply contracts
- Ensures effective DRC supplier due diligence
Logistics
- Fleet management of rental and owned vehicles, generators, and related suppliers
- Transport management of all transportation of goods and people to/from areas of operation and other DRC offices
- Asset management: registration, maintenance, repairs, and disposal of DRC assets in line with donor rules and DRC guidelines
- Warehouse management of DRC stores in line with DRC guidelines
- Premises management: health and safety, contract management and repairs/maintenance at DRC premises
As Coordinator
- Coordinate strategy and operations within a specific discipline in a region or country
- Provide technical line responsibilities within a given discipline, for both strategy and operations
- Provide expert advice and support to set strategy and ensure operational quality and compliance
Carry out any additional duties as requested by the line manager to ensure effective delivery of the program and organizational objectives.
Experience and technical competencies
- Minimum 3-5 years of working experience in a similar position
- Field experience
- Working experience from an international humanitarian organisation
- Good understanding of the procurement rules and regulations of major international donors
- Experience working in an (I)NGO
- Excellent skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Education
- Master\\\’s degree in e.g. Logistics and/or Supply Chain Management
- Certification in Humanitarian Logistics Supply Chain (desired if no academic degree)

- Arabic essential
