This position is working on our PM shift, typically Monday to Friday from 14:00 to 23:30 with some requirement to work overtime some weekends.

Area of responsibility

Responsible for leading and managing the production team, developing and maintaining team performance and procedures to ensure the delivery of quality products to meet production targets and maintain cost efficiency and safe working conditions.

Specific Tasks

  • Ensure that production processes are in line with company set standards and regulatory requirements
  • Assist the Production Manager on quality control throughout the production facility
  • Accurately complete all necessary documentation for regulatory compliance
  • Responsible for training and inducting any new employees into the team
  • Coach the production team on company health and safety practices
  • Communicate expectations to production team members and evaluate their performance, taking responsibility for the monitoring and reporting of KPIs
  • Implement relevant emergency response procedures in emergency situations
  • Regularly check the machinery and checkpoints to ensure safe and efficient workflow
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of production schedules for any products / parts
  • Compile reports about production and provide management with updates
  • Manage the repair or replacement of faulty production equipment
  • Ensure all resources and assets are used efficiently and correctly
  • Run an efficient production line and identify any potential areas for improvement within the production process
  • Maintain high levels of hygiene and quality standards
  • Enforce compliance with Health and Safety policies and procedures and investigate and report on near misses and accidents
  • Completion of production, cleaning, and compliance paperwork
  • Monitor inventory of production materials
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to change as required

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience of production, preferably within a fast-paced food production industry
  • Proven experience of managing and motivating a team to consistently achieve KPI targets and managing people issues
  • Strong knowledge and working experience of Health & Safety Legislation and practices
  • Experience of driving continuous improvement
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 and use of Enterprise Resource Planning software e.g. SAP
  • Good analytical skills in data control and understanding of production processes
  • Good problem-solving techniques and understanding of lean manufacturing
  • Demonstrates behaviour aligned with company leadership principles
  • Works collaboratively with others, seeks to understand different perspectives and include others
