As buyer/stock controller at Danish Crown you will be a key figure within our commercial team, responsible for industry specific market research, analysing and forecasting of customers’ needs and the creation of purchase orders. Embracing ownership and control of stock ordered, from the moment the order is placed through to receipt, storage, picking and despatch - every day will be different in the face of evolving challenges and opportunities.
Occupying a key commercial position within the business the candidate should thrive working as part of a team, and be able to communicate confidently with other members of the commercial team and suppliers to plan, problem solve and identify opportunities for growth. The candidate should be able to work in a structured and efficient manner, being responsible for maintaining stocks at appropriate levels to meet both weekly and seasonal demand, requiring both flexibility and a willingness to adapt to change.
The candidate should be IT literate and competent in the use of all Microsoft Office programs, with responsibility for the production of weekly price lists, simultaneously updating product pricing within our bespoke Accord system and creation of weekly special offer sheet. Strong negotiation skills are vital, however the candidate must also possess the ability to work closely with key suppliers to build strong long‑term partnerships ensuring consistent availability of product.
- Daily stock taking and reconciliation to Accord system
- Identification and communication of availability / inbound delivery issues
- Expedition of overdue inbound deliveries
- Creation of weekly price lists, updated to reflect availability
