We are seeking a new Engineer to join our team working on a shift basis to service, maintain and repair all factory equipment in order for production to be maintained at optimum efficiency and to enable delivery of key performance targets, safely, effectively and efficiently to meet the required customer and technical standards. Shift pattern is a 4 week cycle working Monday to Friday, with a Monday to Thursday pattern once in each cycle.
Our Engineers will:
- Attend breakdowns, in order to minimise machinery downtime and to assist with attaining the factory operational performance targets.
- Maintain machinery in the highest order to ensure availability of plant to the operations team at all times.
- Diagnose defects, effect repairs and evaluate results (test before handing back).
- Identify and order the correct spare parts from different sources and communicate this information to all other team members.
- Monitor and carry out dynamic performance tests of new and current machinery on a continuing basis.
- Be available for prompt attendance to breakdown with the correct tools within 2 minutes from callout.
- Understand system drawings and machinery manuals (Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic).
- Access information in order to keep up to date with current technology advancements and implement best practice.
- Monitor and recycle materials in order to reduce costs.
- Liaise with Contractors, assess the quality and performance of their work in order to ensure that correct standards are maintained.
- Keep records up to date in accordance with good engineering practices and carry out effective handovers.
- Communicate with other departments, to influence and educate in order to draw attention to current state, impending problems and to develop a spirit of co-operation across all departments.
We are looking for an Engineer who will:
- Have formal engineering qualification/recognised with multi-skilling focus (equivalent of a minimum of level 3).
- Understand system drawings and machinery manuals (Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic).
- Have knowledge and understanding of supply chain – including requirements and expectations from intake through to processing, despatch and the end customer.
- Have the ability to prioritise workload effectively with awareness of the production shift plan.
- Have experience of working within a factory environment.
- Be hands-on with engineering experience (New Tech).
- Convey accurate information effectively using the most appropriate methods to reflect the needs of the audience and ensure understanding.
- Ensure good standards of General Manufacturing Practice and that the area is audit ready at all times.
- Continuously review and identify ways to improve efficiency and yields and reduce costs and waste whilst maintaining quality and technical standards.
- Undertake any duties within your skills and capabilities which the Company reasonably considers necessary to meet business needs.
