An amazing and rare opportunity for an Assistant Buyer has arisen to join a highly successful Childrenswear Company on a 12-month contract. The Assistant Buyer will work on multi product childrenswear, including boys and girlswear, across higher-end high street accounts and will involve managing the product lifecycle from development through to delivery. This position is ideally suited to someone with a strong background in developing ranges, and experience in carrying out trend research, managing the critical path, and raising purchase orders.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the main point of contact for customer queries, ensuring clear, timely, and professional communication.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, delivering a high level of service and attention to detail.
  • Prepare, update, and manage costing sheets to ensure accurate pricing and margin control.
  • Take ownership of the critical path, ensuring all stages from development through to delivery are met on time.
  • Carry out extensive trend and market research.
  • Manage communication with Far East suppliers, including sending comments, chasing samples, and monitoring deliveries.
  • Track samples, approvals, lab dips, strike-offs, and submissions, maintaining accurate records throughout.
  • Proactively identify and resolve any production or delivery issues, ensuring all stakeholders are kept informed.
  • Attend and support customer meetings where required.

Skills & Experience:

  • Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Confident communicator, comfortable liaising with both customers and suppliers.
  • Previous experience in a similar role.

12-month fixed-term contract.
