We are working with a market leading Baby Product brand who are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Junior Designer to support the creative team in developing stylish, practical nursery items, including strollers, car seats, and in-home gear.
This entry-level position is ideal for someone with a flair for trends and color, a genuine interest in the nursery sector, and the ambition to grow into a specialist product designer.
The Junior Soft Goods Designer will work closely with experienced team members, and gain hands-on experience in designing within industry constraints while learning how to blend aesthetics with commercial appeal.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in creating product concepts and textile designs under the mentorship of senior designers
- Conduct ongoing trend analysis and competitor research to support seasonal planning
- Help develop mood boards, color stories, and material references
- Produce professional design assets and presentations using Illustrator and Photoshop
- Contribute to the translation of brand and seasonal direction into nursery-ready products
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product development and engineering
Qualifications & Skills:
- Attend design reviews, offering creative input and supporting iterations
- Degree or relevant experience in fashion, product, or textile design (or a related discipline)
- 0β2 years of professional experience; internships or industry placements are a plus
- Strong interest in baby products and lifestyle design, with an awareness of consumer trends
- Confident in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; experience with digital sketching tools is advantageous
- Keen eye for color, texture, and form, and an openness to learn from evolving design directions
- Basic knowledge of design for manufacturability and working within product limitations
