We are working with a highly successful retail group who are looking for an Estates and Asset Manager to join their team. This position is all about control, clarity, and delivery. The Estates and Asset Manager will build a complete understanding of the portfolio, implement a practical management framework, and take the lead on improving, rationalising, and disposing of assets where appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Oversight & Structure
    • Develop a clear and accurate picture of the entire estate
    • Map properties, ownership structures, and key asset data
    • Establish and maintain a simple, effective management system
    • Ensure all information is organised, accessible, and up to date
    • Provide practical recommendations on asset strategy (hold, improve, or dispose)
  • Disposals & Portfolio Optimisation
    • Identify underperforming or non-core assets
    • Prepare properties for sale, resolving issues where needed
    • Manage the disposal process end-to-end alongside external agents
    • Maintain pace and accountability through to completion
  • Estate Improvement & “Clean-Up”
    • Review the portfolio for risks, gaps, and inefficiencies
    • Address legacy challenges across condition, compliance, tenancy, and presentation
    • Bring assets up to a standard suitable for long-term hold or sale
  • Financial & Strategic Input
    • Build a clear understanding of asset performance, costs, and value
    • Support decision-making with concise, practical analysis
    • Work closely with the Finance Director to align property strategy with wider financial goals

About You

You’re someone who combines practical delivery with commercial awareness. You’re comfortable working independently, confident dealing with senior stakeholders, and motivated by making things happen. You’ll likely bring:

  • Proven experience in estates, property, or asset management
  • A track record of managing disposals and portfolio rationalisation
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to structure complex information
  • Confidence using tools like Excel to track and manage data
  • A hands-on, solutions-focused approach
  • The ability to work directly and effectively with senior decision-makers
