A well-established business within the fashion supply sector is seeking to appoint an Import Merchandiser to support the delivery of key customer accounts. This role works closely with account management, offshore teams, and international suppliers to ensure products move efficiently from development through to shipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a primary contact for customers and suppliers regarding production updates, approvals, delivery timelines, and costings.
  • Manage the product development process, including tracking progress, coordinating samples, and supporting cost negotiations.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate product development packs, ensuring all technical and design information is clearly communicated to suppliers.
  • Review and approve purchase orders where required, working closely with offshore support teams.
  • Take ownership of the critical path from development through to shipment, ensuring all milestones are achieved on time.
  • Work with suppliers to agree production timelines and monitor performance against agreed schedules.
  • Escalate any risks relating to delays, pricing, or production challenges to senior stakeholders.
  • Oversee packaging requirements and approval processes, ensuring all specifications are accurate and up to date.
  • Attend customer meetings alongside senior team members to support account management and understand client requirements.
  • Support multiple accounts as well as new business initiatives where required.
  • Collaborate with offshore teams, providing guidance to ensure accuracy and consistency across all processes.
  • Maintain internal systems and merchandising tools, ensuring all data is kept up to date and accurate.

  • Previous experience in a Merchandising, Buying, or Product role within fashion or a related industry.
  • Strong working knowledge of critical path management.
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
