We are looking for a Pastry Chef, reporting to the Executive Chef, to produce delicious and exquisite pastry items and desserts. You will be a vital part of our high performing brigade creating amazing experiences for our guests through delivering warm hospitality in every interaction.
Your day to day Responsibilities:
- Use your eye for quality and creative flair to produce high quality food from scratch.
- Create seasonal desserts and afternoon tea items with support of the Executive Chef.
- Manage a section within the kitchen and cook with fresh ingredients.
- Ensure the highest levels of hygiene and safety are maintained at all times.
- Maintain areas of work and machinery.
- Control the order and storage of food supplies.
- Support other team members across the kitchen.
Qualifications:
- Ideally, you will have a minimum of 2 years previous experience in a similar role in a bakery or pastry environment with proven ability to produce high quality food, ideally using fresh produce and create new recipes and dishes on a seasonal basis.
- You will have worked in a high quality Four-Star or Five-Star hotel and have demonstrable experience in a fine dining environment.
- You will proactively be able to work calmly and well in a pressurised environment, have high levels of self-motivation and a natural drive for excellence.
- You will have exemplary customer service skills, good interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well with others to represent the Company and the hotel in a loyal, professional, and knowledgeable manner.
- You will have a strong work ethic, good timekeeping and the ability to multi-task whilst working in a pressurised environment.
