Our Yorkshire inns are full of character, great food and surrounded by some of the most beautiful countryside in the country. We’re looking for a Content Creator who can bring all of that to life. You’ll be part of the Thwaites marketing team, but this isn’t a desk-based content role. You’ll be on the road across our Yorkshire inns, getting under the skin of each place and creating content that shows people what makes them special.

What We're Looking For

We’re looking for someone who loves food, hospitality and the outdoors and understands what makes people want to visit, stay, eat and explore. We want our content to feel genuine. It doesn’t always need to be staged, polished or perfect. It should capture real hospitality, great food, brilliant locations and the individual character of our inns and people. One day you might be capturing a new dish coming out of the kitchen, the next the atmosphere of a cosy winter’s night by the fire, meeting one of our local suppliers or heading out into the Yorkshire countryside to showcase what there is to see and do on our doorstep. You’ll have the freedom to get out there, find great content and make it happen, while being part of a wider Thwaites marketing team to share ideas, plan campaigns and create work we’re proud of. If you know hospitality, love Yorkshire and can spot a great piece of content before anyone else does, we’d love to hear from you.

Specific Responsibilities

  • You’ll plan, shoot and edit photography and video for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, websites, email and our other digital channels, with a particular focus on engaging short-form video and stills.
  • Alongside your work in Yorkshire, you’ll also support brand campaigns across all of our inns, working with the wider marketing team to turn our plans, offers and campaigns into strong creative content.
  • You'll manage, own and deliver the content calendar for our Yorkshire properties and also the wider campaign calendar for all the Inns with a particular focus on food and drink and our unique stories.
  • You'll manage our Yorkshire properties social feeds and online community, responding directly to day-to-day comments.
  • You’ll make our feeds as engaging as possible and not just ‘push’ channels but open two-way conversations with our customers.
  • Work alongside GM’s, chefs, suppliers and the team to showcase what makes us different and tell their stories.
  • Launch new menus across our social channels in a way that brings in new and old customers alike.
  • Bring our daily boards to life in a way that inspires customers to drop by.
  • Support investment properties across all our Inns.
  • Grow followers and engagement through partnerships and competitions.
  • Support in the management of local paid social marketing campaigns.
  • Monthly reporting on performance across our channels.

Experience You’ll Need

  • Hospitality experience is important. You’ll understand the pace of the industry, be comfortable working alongside our teams and know how to capture the little details that make a great pub, inn or stay memorable.
  • Confident shooting high-quality photo and video, using both smartphone and camera equipment.
  • Willing to try new ideas rather than simply follow a formula.
  • Creative, curious and full of ideas.
  • Confident approaching and working with people.
  • Passionate about food, travel and the outdoors.
  • Organised and able to manage your own diary and workload.
  • Happy travelling regularly across Yorkshire.
  • Flexible when the best content needs capturing outside the usual 9–5.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Strong knowledge of video editing software.
  • Good working knowledge of Instagram and TikTok, including Reels, Stories, trends and platform best practice.
  • Working knowledge of Wordpress.
  • Experience using Canva or Adobe Creative Suite to create simple, on-brand social assets.
  • Understanding of content formats, sizing, sound, lighting and basic colour correction for social-first content.
  • Comfortable managing and organising a content library, including uploading, filing and sharing assets.
  • An understanding of social analytics and insights to see what content is working and help shape what we create next.

In return, we are offering a rewarding role with scope for career progression along with; a competitive salary, negotiable dependent on experience, car allowance, Stream - the ability to access up to 40% of your wages as you earn them each week, 33 days annual leave, company paid health cash plan, employee assistance programme, enhanced maternity and paternity pay, apprenticeships available, generous employee discounts, pension and life assurance, long service awards, including free meals and free stays with friends and family, bespoke training programmes accessible to all, and an engaging supportive work environment.
