We are excited to be recruiting for a Health & Safety Officer for our Client based in Stourbridge. Working on a rolling 6 month contract basis, this is an exciting and challenging opportunity for someone to join a hugely successful, employee focused organisation.
Duties/responsibilities:
- Regularly review HSE updates & advise management on changes impacting the business.
- Build competence across the business.
- Complete & conduct COSHH assessments, general risk assessments & safe systems of work; ensuring they reflect current operations.
- Perform regular site walk arounds - identifying & correcting issues found.
- Manage commissioning & documentation.
- Drive shopfloor improvements.
- Deliver training & Toolbox talks.
- Monitor & enforce compliance (reporting issues & following these up).
- This is a reporting and advisory role - prepare reports for management on H&S performance, trends & recommendations.
The ideal candidate will have:
- In-depth knowledge of current health and safety legislation and regulations (e.g. Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, COSHH, PUWER, Machinery Directive/Supply of Machinery Safety Regulations).
- Competence in key industry-specific areas, such as Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV).
