Role Overview We are looking for an experienced and safety-conscious FLT / Casting Operative / Hot Metals Operative to join a busy heavy engineering / foundry environment. The role will involve supporting the movement of materials, castings and components throughout the production area, operating forklift trucks and other material-handling equipment, and assisting with casting and hot metal operations where required. This is a hands-on position suited to someone who is comfortable working within a demanding industrial environment involving heavy materials, high temperatures and strict health and safety procedures. responsibilities: * Operate forklift trucks safely and efficiently to move raw materials, castings, tooling and finished components around the site. * Load and unload vehicles, production areas and storage locations as required. * Transport castings and metal components between different stages of the manufacturing process. * Assist with the safe handling and movement of hot metal, molten metal and recently cast components in accordance with site procedures. * Support casting operations including preparation, movement and positioning of moulds, castings and associated equipment. * Work alongside foundry and production teams during pouring, casting and cooling operations where required. * Ensure materials are correctly identified, stored and moved to the appropriate production area. * Carry out visual inspections of materials and castings and report defects or abnormalities. Requirements: * Previous foundry or casting experience. * Previous experience working around molten or hot metal. * Experience handling large or heavy castings. * Experience using industrial machinery or material-handling equipment. * Knowledge of casting, fettling, moulding or metal production processes. * Counter balance FLT certification & experience Working on a 3 shift rotating basis. Basic working hours are 41.25 per week
