We are proud to be working exclusively with our client based in Aldridge, who are recruiting for an accounts and payroll assistant to work closely with and for the Finance Manager. Working Tuesday to Friday approx. 20 hours per week (9-3, with early finish on Fridays) you will be responsible for a variety of processes within the accounts and payroll functions for the company.
Day to day duties (but not limited to):
- Uploading and checking staff clock in system & transferring onto payroll system.
- Completion of weekly payroll for approx. 60 weekly paid staff.
- Managing and overseeing pensions portal.
- Purchase ledger collation of invoices/PO numbers & ensuring accurate on system.
- Generating and checking reports, communicating with heads of departments to gain approval for invoice payments and then payment runs.
The ideal candidate:
This is a progression role, giving the successful applicant an opportunity to move up their career and take on more financial day to day responsibilities within the business and therefore we are looking for someone with excellent experience in Payroll & accounts functions, but also someone who is flexible to assist in other jobs as the business requires.
You will have:
- Previous payroll & accounts experience within a weekly and monthly payroll environment.
- Previous experience in handling and being responsible for purchase ledger administration.
- A form of qualification in Accounts/finance or work experience to this level.
Therefore, are you happy to do:
- General admin and filing.
- Financial housekeeping for the department.
- Creation of processes and procedures as the business grows.
- Able to communicate with staff across all levels of the business.
- Confident and proactive approach to workload.
- A team player, but able to work with minimal supervision.
