A brand new and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced individual within Quality management. This is a hugely exciting opportunity for the right person to help take a growing SME into the next phase of its existence.
Place of work: The main site is based in Stourbridge. However, the role will also have responsibility over the other 2 current sites. It may also be a requirement to visit clients, suppliers or sites which could be anywhere in the UK or Europe. It would be expected that much of the working day would be within the factory, but it is recognised that time at a desk will also be important to evaluate and disseminate data and detail.
Reporting to: This position will report directly to the Operations Manager and will be a key, integral part of the Operations team.
Background / Role Requirement: Over the past decade, our client has enjoyed varied and significant growth in product sales, market involvement and bespoke system development. Significant investment has recently been made to expand warehousing capability, streamline manufacturing processes and enhance/automate the manufacturing process. A documented Quality System is in place and ISO 9001 accreditation has been held for over a decade.
General Role Description: The following list is not exhaustive as the role is expected to evolve and establish routines and procedures as it matures.
- Work as a key member of the Operations and Factory Management Team.
- Liaise with customer complaints to understand the details, patterns and trends for customer dissatisfaction.
- Take operational ownership of the Quality process, including Non-Conformance Reporting.
- Analyse findings to understand root causation then work with relevant staff to implement robust corrective action.
- Propose alternative methods of systemic operation where deemed advantageous and, if approved, implement accordingly.
- Work with other members of the Management team during the implementation of a new ERP system to ensure it caters for the ongoing requirements of the Quality function.
The successful candidate will:
- Hold a full UK Driving licence.
- Hold a UK in date passport.
- Have previous experience in toolbox training/ISO 9001.
- Have some internal auditing experience.
- Have experience from an engineering/manufacturing sector.
- Be able to communicate with all stakeholders and internal managers appropriately.
- Be a "hands on" proactive and passionate individual.
