An exciting opportunity has arisen with our client based in the Cannock area for a Production Team Leader. You will provide a proactive hands-on leadership approach to all personnel on your shift. Responsible for driving performance and ensuring the timely delivery of customer orders. Maintain high standards of health and safety, product quality and operational discipline. Support and contribute to the ongoing improvement of production processes, staff training and performance whilst promoting a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
RESPONSIBILITIES OVERVIEW:
- Lead & manage production staff, operators & material handlers.
- Drive performance in line with quality, H&S and enforcing correct PPE.
- Lead performance in line with targets (quality/cost/deliveries).
- Promote & implement best practices and initiatives.
- Support team members through coaching & job training.
- Oversee distribution of quality packs, machine cell set up for shift start ups & support oncoming shifts.
- Minimise downtime.
- Provide excellent standards of quality inspection, use of best practice tools & structured problem solving.
- Be responsible for ensuring that non-conforming parts are quarantined, logged and correct disposal of parts actioned.
EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- Strong proven previous experience in leading production/manufacturing teams.
- Able to work in a very busy environment, keeping calm & providing support to subordinates.
- Have working knowledge of ISO 9001 compliance.
- Proven work experience in quality inspection using measuring & quality equipment.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Able to work rotating shifts.
- Have a positive can-do approach to workload & challenges.
- Some internal audit experience would be advantageous but not essential.
