On behalf of our partners based in Wolverhampton (serving the whole of the Black Country), we are seeking a commercially driven and strategic Finance Director to join our leadership team in the Black Country. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will play a pivotal role in delivering core business objectives, ensuring financial stability, and maintaining compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements. This is a broad and influential role requiring strong leadership, financial expertise, and the ability to operate across multiple business areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the finance and international trade functions.
  • Own and deliver key business KPIs and financial performance targets.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes.
  • Manage cashflow and ensure the ongoing financial health of the business.
  • Ensure budgets are achieved, with clear reporting on variances and actions.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to drive growth, profitability, and cost control.
  • Maximise financial reserves and business efficiency.
  • Oversee all financial operations, including: Budgeting, Forecasting, Financial reporting.
  • Ensure full compliance with UK legal and statutory requirements, including Companies House obligations.
  • Act as Company Secretary.
  • Present financial insights and reports at board level.
  • Communicate financial strategy across the organisation to drive understanding and alignment.
  • Manage a varied workload across multiple business areas, understanding complex operational dynamics.

Experience & Knowledge

  • Proven experience as a Finance Director, Finance Lead, or similar senior role.
  • Strong track record of reporting at board level.
  • Experience managing company legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven success in delivering to budget and exceeding financial targets.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK financial regulations and Companies House requirements.
  • Understanding of internal business operations and external support organisations.
  • Working knowledge of HR regulations and experience working alongside HR support.
  • Relevant professional qualifications (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience.
