Location: South Brent office (covering the South West region)

Hours: Monday–Friday, 08:30–17:00

A key client of ours is looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to support their expanding retrofit and refurbishment programmes across the South West. This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward‑thinking organisation where your expertise will directly influence the quality and success of essential improvement works within the social housing sector.

Salary: £55,000–£65,000 per year

The Opportunity

You’ll join a collaborative, supportive team where your contribution genuinely matters. Working across tenanted social housing retrofit programmes—including solar PV, EWI, ventilation, windows, doors, roofing, and wider planned works—you’ll take ownership of the full project lifecycle. This includes subcontractor procurement, mobilisation, commercial management, and client liaison. The role offers a blend of office, home, and on‑site working, giving you the autonomy to manage your workload while maintaining a healthy work/life balance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitoring contract progress and reporting on changes affecting cost or programme.
  • Working closely with Contract Managers to understand project specifications and requirements.
  • Valuing and authorising subcontractor payments.
  • Assisting with contract budget control and preparing cashflow forecasts.
  • Preparing and submitting monthly applications for payment.
  • Producing monthly valuation reports and ensuring timely invoicing.
  • Building strong relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and colleagues.
  • Supporting procurement programmes and contributing to tender and bid preparation.

About You

  • Experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within social housing planned works or retrofit.
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong IT proficiency (including MS Office).
  • Full UK driving licence (regional travel required).
  • Ability to pass a DBS check.
