We have an opportunity for an experienced Roofer to join the in-house roofing team of a leading residential developer and housing association. This is a permanent role working across occupied and void properties, delivering high-quality roofing repairs and maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Carrying out a wide range of pitched and flat roofing repairs to occupied and vacant properties
- Repairing and replacing slate and tiled roofs, including felt roofing and timber battens.
- Undertaking chimney repairs, rebuilds, and associated leadwork.
- Installing and repairing flat roofing systems, including felt and asphalt.
- Completing leadwork such as flashings, soakers, and valley gutters.
- Repairing and installing ridge, verge, and hip tiles.
- Maintaining and replacing rainwater goods, including gutters and downpipes.
- Installing, repairing, and maintaining fascia boards, soffits, and barge boards.
- Carrying out roof insulation works to joists and rafters
- Installing and repairing roof vents, eaves ventilation, ducting, roof lights, and skylights.
- Responding to emergency call-outs following storm damage or leaks to make properties safe
- Identifying defects and recommending appropriate remedial works
- Working with reclaimed roofing materials where required
- Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in line with health and safety regulations
- Accurately recording materials used and time spent on each job
- Liaising professionally with tenants and site supervisors to minimise disruption
- Supporting planned maintenance programmes and refurbishment projects
- Using a handheld electronic device to receive job instructions and submit work updates
Requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence (manual)
- Basic Criminal Record Check (DBS)
- City & Guilds in Roofing Occupations (desirable)
- Icopal Ticket (desirable)
