We have an opportunity for a Carpenter Multi-Trade to join a local contractor working in partnership with housing associations to deliver exceptional repairs and maintenance services.
Responsibilities:
- Carrying out responsive carpentry repairs within social housing properties, including easing and adjusting doors, repairing frames, and fixing or replacing locks, hinges, and windows.
- Completing a range of multi-trade maintenance tasks to support efficient repairs, including basic plumbing (e.g. fixing leaks, changing taps), patch plastering, tiling, and making good/decorating after works.
- Attending occupied properties, diagnosing faults, and achieving first-time fixes where possible, ensuring homes are left safe, secure, and habitable.
- Working in line with social housing repair priorities, meeting response times and service level agreements for both emergency and routine jobs.
- Operating and maintaining tools, materials, and equipment safely, following all health and safety regulations.
- Providing a professional and respectful service to tenants, communicating clearly about works being carried out, and keeping work areas clean and tidy.
- Using a handheld PDA device to receive job allocations, updating progress, recording materials used, and completing work orders accurately and in real time.
Requirements:
- Full UK Driving Licence (manual)
- City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry (required)
- Asbestos Awareness, UKATA or IATP
- Basic DBS Check
