About the Role:

We are looking for a skilled Gas Safe Plumber to join our team in Burton Upon Trent, specialising in social housing works, repairs, and maintenance. The successful candidate will have a strong background in domestic plumbing and gas safety, with experience in carrying out repairs, installations, and maintenance within the social housing sector. As part of this role, you will be required to travel to various properties, so owning a van and tools is essential. You will play a key role in ensuring our tenants receive the highest standard of service and safety in their homes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out gas installations, repairs, servicing, and maintenance within social housing properties.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant safety regulations and standards (Gas Safety, Building Regulations, etc.).
  • Perform regular inspections and diagnostics to identify and resolve plumbing and heating issues.
  • Manage a full range of plumbing and heating work, including boiler repairs, installations, and general plumbing maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate records of work carried out, including service reports and certificates.
  • Respond to emergency call-outs as required and work to set response times.
  • Ensure all work is completed within agreed timeframes and to the highest standards of quality.

Essential Requirements:

  • Gas Safe Registered (essential)
  • JIB Approved Electrician Card or equivalent
  • Valid UK driving license and own van (required)
  • Proven experience in domestic plumbing and heating systems, including social housing projects.
  • Strong understanding of gas safety regulations and practices.
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A proactive and solution-focused approach to maintenance and repairs.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience in social housing maintenance or repairs.
  • Additional plumbing qualifications (e.g., C&G Level 2/3 in Plumbing and Heating).
