The Role

A well-established social housing provider is seeking an experienced Reactive Repairs Supervisor to oversee day-to-day responsive repairs across a residential housing stock. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity, offering stability and progression into a permanent role after an initial six-month period. The role will be primarily based around the Brentwood area, with only occasional travel to Southend-on-Sea.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of operatives and/or contractors delivering reactive repairs
  • Ensure day-to-day repairs are completed efficiently, safely, and to a high standard
  • Monitor performance against KPIs, productivity, and quality benchmarks
  • Carry out inspections of completed works and address any defects or issues
  • Act as the first point of escalation for complex repairs and resident concerns
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and company procedures
  • Liaise with schedulers, surveyors, and other internal teams to ensure smooth service delivery
  • Maintain accurate records using housing and repairs management systems

About You

  • Proven experience in a Reactive Repairs Supervisor role within social housing or a similar environment
  • Strong technical knowledge of building maintenance and repairs
  • Experience managing operatives or contractors in a fast-paced setting
  • Good understanding of health & safety and compliance requirements
  • Strong communication skills with a customer-focused approach
  • Organised, decisive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities
