The client is seeking a Lead Mechanical HVAC Engineer to deliver planned preventive and reactive maintenance across a large commercial building. The role ensures all mechanical and HVAC systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with statutory regulations and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out PPM and reactive maintenance on mechanical and HVAC systems
  • Maintain, repair, and inspect heating, ventilation, and air‐conditioning assets
  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and site procedures
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns and fault‐find safely and logically
  • Complete risk assessments and maintain accurate maintenance records
  • Liaise with building occupants to minimise disruption
  • Operate tools and access equipment safely and correctly
  • Participate in the on‐call/standby rota after a qualifying period
  • Work collaboratively with other trades and colleagues

Skills & Experience Required

  • Recognised Mechanical Apprenticeship
  • NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical/Maintenance services or equivalent
  • Experience in a complex maintenance environment
  • Strong knowledge of AHUs, chilled water, water systems, and A/C units
  • Experience with PPM and reactive maintenance
  • Pipe fitting experience (desirable)
  • Authorised Person – Ventilation (desirable)
