The client is seeking a Lead Mechanical HVAC Engineer to deliver planned preventive and reactive maintenance across a large commercial building. The role ensures all mechanical and HVAC systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with statutory regulations and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out PPM and reactive maintenance on mechanical and HVAC systems
- Maintain, repair, and inspect heating, ventilation, and air‐conditioning assets
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and site procedures
- Respond promptly to breakdowns and fault‐find safely and logically
- Complete risk assessments and maintain accurate maintenance records
- Liaise with building occupants to minimise disruption
- Operate tools and access equipment safely and correctly
- Participate in the on‐call/standby rota after a qualifying period
- Work collaboratively with other trades and colleagues
Skills & Experience Required
- Recognised Mechanical Apprenticeship
- NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical/Maintenance services or equivalent
- Experience in a complex maintenance environment
- Strong knowledge of AHUs, chilled water, water systems, and A/C units
- Experience with PPM and reactive maintenance
- Pipe fitting experience (desirable)
- Authorised Person – Ventilation (desirable)
