A leading and well-established commercial office fit-out and refurbishment contractor is seeking an experienced Site Manager to take full responsibility for the on-site delivery of a high-specification office fit-out and refurbishment project. This role requires a highly organised and technically competent professional with a strong track record of delivering complex commercial interiors projects to exacting standards.

Salary: Β£260.00 - Β£270.00 per day
Contract Type: 16-week temporary contract
Start date: Start of February 2026
Role Overview: The Site Manager will be responsible for the effective planning, coordination, and control of all site-based activities from commencement through to practical completion and handover. The successful candidate will ensure that the project is delivered safely, on programme, within agreed quality parameters, and in full compliance with statutory and contractual obligations.
Key Responsibilities:- Assume full responsibility for the day-to-day management of site operations across all phases of the project, including strip-out, structural alterations (where applicable), fit-out, finishes, and final commissioning.
- Plan and manage construction activities in line with the approved programme, method statements, and sequencing requirements.
- Coordinate and manage all subcontractors, direct labour, and suppliers to ensure efficient workflow and productivity.
- Maintain strict control of health & safety on site, including site inductions, toolbox talks, RAMS reviews, audits, and compliance with CDM regulations.
- Ensure all works are carried out to the required quality standards and in accordance with drawings, specifications, and design intent.
- Liaise closely with the Project Manager, Quantity Surveyor, design team, consultants, building management, and client representatives.
- Manage site logistics, access constraints, deliveries, waste management, and interface with occupied or partially occupied buildings where applicable.
- Monitor and report progress against programme, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions where necessary.
- Manage and coordinate M&E installation in conjunction with relevant specialists, ensuring full integration with architectural works.
- Maintain accurate site records, including daily diaries, progress reports, and quality documentation.
- Oversee snagging, commissioning, testing, and final handover, ensuring all documentation is complete and compliant.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive and detail-oriented Site Manager with significant experience in commercial office fit-out and refurbishment environments.
- Proven experience as a Site Manager delivering commercial office fit-out and refurbishment projects.
- Strong technical knowledge of construction methodology, finishes, and sequencing within commercial interiors.
- SMSTS certification.
- First Aid at Work certification.
- CSCS Black or Gold Card.
- Experience delivering CAT B office fit-out projects.
- Experience working in live or constrained commercial environments (e.g. city centre offices).
- Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple trades and stakeholders in fast-paced project environments.
