An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced

Financial Controller / Bookkeeper to join a growing, independent estate agency based in Chester. Full or part time considered.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who understands both finance and the property industry and wants to play an important role within an ambitious business that is doing things differently.

The Role

Working closely with the senior management team, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day financial management and bookkeeping of the business, ensuring that the company's financial processes are accurate, efficient and well organised.

This is a hands-on role and would suit someone who enjoys having ownership of their work and being an integral part of a growing business.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Managing day-to-day bookkeeping and financial administration
  • Processing purchase and sales invoices
  • Managing accounts payable and receivable
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Monitoring incoming and outgoing payments
  • Preparing and maintaining financial records
  • Credit control and chasing outstanding payments
  • Supporting payroll and staff expenses
  • VAT preparation and submissions
  • Producing regular management reports
  • Monitoring cash flow
  • Supporting month-end and year-end processes
  • Working closely with external accountants
  • Maintaining accurate financial records across the business
  • Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and systems
  • Providing financial insight and support to the directors
  • Ensuring appropriate financial controls and procedures are maintained

Previous experience within an estate agency, lettings business, property company or similar property-related environment is essential.

You will ideally have a strong understanding of the financial processes involved within a property business and be comfortable dealing with the complexities of an estate agency environment.
