As Software Application Manager, you'll take ownership of a diverse portfolio of business-critical applications, ensuring they remain secure, reliable, fit for purpose and continually evolving to meet the needs of the organisation. The Opportunity
You'll become the technical and operational owner for a broad suite of enterprise applications, working closely with internal stakeholders, third-party suppliers and the wider technology team to ensure services are delivered to an exceptional standard. Rather than simply maintaining existing systems, you'll play a key role in shaping application strategy, identifying opportunities for improvement, managing upgrades, overseeing suppliers and helping deliver new technology initiatives. This is a highly visible role where you'll have genuine influence across the organisation.
Responsibilities
- Own the lifecycle of multiple business-critical software applications.
- Act as the primary technical and business contact for supported systems.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders across multiple departments.
- Manage third-party suppliers, software vendors and support partners.
- Ensure applications remain secure, available and fully supported.
- Lead application upgrades, enhancements and release planning.
- Drive continual service improvement initiatives.
- Manage incidents, problems and root cause analysis.
- Support change management and application governance.
- Produce documentation, service reporting and application roadmaps.
- Work closely with infrastructure, security and project teams.
- Ensure software licensing and supplier contracts remain compliant.
- Contribute towards wider digital transformation initiatives.
