Thank you for your interest in the Executive Assistant (cover) role. I am a practising barrister and disability activist seeking part‑time Executive Assistants to provide cover for my full‑time Executive Assistant. The role involves managing legal documents, assisting with case preparation, supporting travel and navigation, and providing personal care. I am based in central London, but we will travel across England and Wales. This is a unique opportunity for individuals aspiring to pursue legal careers. The role is also ideal for lawyers seeking experience in civil law (including personal injury, property, and debt), employment law, and public law.

Responsibilities

  • General Administrative Support
    • Moving and handling papers
    • Printing and scanning
    • Photocopying and preparing documents for court
    • Helping me to access and use written materials
    • Loading documents onto document systems
    • Paper‑based research
    • Taking notes
  • Legal Support
    • Assistance with case preparation, including legal research and drafting legal advice
    • Providing support at court, conferences, events, volunteering and other professional meetings
    • Liaising with legal professionals, including ushers, opposing counsel, and instructing solicitors
  • Arranging Access
    • Assistance in travelling to and from work, travelling to client conferences, business development activities, court, etc.
    • Assistance in navigating buildings, including chambers and court buildings
    • Accessing support
  • Personal Care
    • Assisting with clothing, if required
    • Assisting with my wig and gown, if required
    • Helping to access and eat food and drink during mealtimes
    • Assisting with accessing and using toilets
