Role Overview
We are looking for a Technology Pipeline Manager to join our IT Portfolio and Technical Initiative team at Formula 1. Reporting into our Head of Portfolio & Technical Initiatives, this role will be responsible for managing the pipeline flow of technology initiatives (projects and programmes), enabling smooth transitions between stages in the technology pipeline.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Pipeline Management
- Maintain the technology project pipeline, ensuring visibility and transparency across all stages.
- Working with internal and external stakeholders to shape and define the scope of initiatives and develop high level milestone plans.
- Track progress and reporting on initiatives from ideation through business case development to contracting, then post‑delivery supporting technology partnership marketing activations.
Workshop Facilitation
- Facilitate stakeholder workshops to define problems, identify needs, shape early requirements and capture clear use cases across early pipeline stages.
Business Case Development
- Guide initiative owners through the development of robust business cases, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and business value outcomes.
- Validate assumptions, benefits, and cost estimates to support informed decision‑making.
Contracting Coordination
- Collaborate with procurement and legal teams to facilitate timely contracting for approved initiatives.
- Ensure all necessary documentation and approvals are in place before handover to delivery teams.
- Monitor contracting progress and elevate delays or risks to stakeholders.
Governance & Process
- Facilitate stage‑gate reviews and ensure compliance with governance standards.
- Develop and refine processes for project intake, prioritisation, and approval.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with internal partnerships team, external technology partners (sponsors), business units, technical teams, and procurement to align priorities and timelines.
- Act as the primary point of contact for F1 project owners during early lifecycle stages.
Analysis & Reporting
- Provide regular reporting on pipeline status, risks, and resource implications. Support decision‑making by preparing summaries and recommendations for senior leaders.

Qualifications
Essential:
- Trained in a project management methodology (e.g. Agile, PRINCE2, PMP, APM, MSP or other).
- Degree educated.
Desirable:
- Awareness of structured business analysis methods (e.g. BABOK or similar).
