We now have an opportunity to recruit a Quality Engineer to join our flagship UK plant in Havant, Hampshire.
In this role you will play a key role in protecting customer satisfaction and driving product quality at our Havant site. Acting as a trusted quality expert within the Process Focused Team, you will lead efforts to resolve issues, prevent recurrence, and strengthen confidence in our products. Your work will directly influence how quickly we respond to customer concerns, how effectively we solve root causes, and how we continuously improve our processes. You will be at the forefront of collaboration with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure consistent, high-quality outcomes. By combining structured problem solving with strong stakeholder engagement, you will help reduce cost of poor quality, improve process capability, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead customer quality activities, including complaint investigations, containment, return analysis, customer communication, 8D reporting, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Manage and maintain Quality Management System (QMS) requirements, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and IATF16949, audit standards, procedures, and quality documentation.
- Drive structured problem-solving using quality methodologies such as DMAIC, 8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa, and Pareto to resolve customer, supplier, and internal quality issues.
- Improve supplier quality performance through supplier containment, corrective action management, PPAP support, supplier assessments, and DPPM reduction initiatives.
- Manage non-conformance processes, ensuring prompt disposition of defective products, control of supplier returns and scrap, and escalation of recurring issues into corrective action programs.
- Oversee product inspection and measurement activities, utilising appropriate measuring equipment, MSA/Gauge R&R techniques, and engineering drawing interpretation to ensure product compliance.
- Support Lean and continuous improvement initiatives by monitoring quality metrics, conducting audits, performing layered process checks, and prioritising quality improvement actions.
- Maintain accurate quality records and analyse data from customer claims, audits, NCRs, supplier issues, warranty returns, and quality metrics to identify trends, drive improvements, and communicate performance to stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in a quality, manufacturing, or engineering role with hands-on problem solving
- Strong capability in root cause analysis tools (e.g., 8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa) and data-driven decision making
- Understanding of quality fundamentals such as PFMEA, control plans, and process capability
- Ability to carry out internal audits to IATF16949 standards and procedures.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate confidently with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Ability to work closely with the customer to ensure conformance to their requirements and liaise with customer SQEs.
